Plan where you ll place the shut off valve.
Add shut off valve to sink.
Then cut copper pipe with an autocut tool.
These inexpensive little valves rarely get used and when they do sometimes they leak.
Your first step is to shut off the water to the entire house at the meter.
Water will leak out so place a bowl under it.
Apply a thin layer of solder flux or soldering paste to the inside of the valve s fitting seat and the outside of the pipe.
Usually the water main will be in a basement or garage.
Then drain your home at the lowest point.
Open the old valve all the way and tighten the packing nut.
Twist it to evenly distribute the flux.
Install blocking behind the sink and run 1 2 inch pex tubing around the blocking and extend it out from the wall about an inch.

The angle stop valve is used where the water pipe enters the room to allow for easy shut off of water flow to the end fixture allowing for maintenance and repair without having to turn water off to the entire home.
Quickly swap in the new repair valve in the open position on top of the old valve.
Next use a wrench to loosen the water supply tube from the adapter.
First step turn off the water to your house.
If this happens to you you can simply replace the valve with a new valve that matches the old one.

Grasp the bonnet nut located directly under or next to the knob of the shutoff valve with an adjustable wrench.

Grasp the knob of the shutoff valve with another adjustable wrench.
Drain the system by opening the sink and tub faucets on the lowest floor.

If you re replacing a shut off valve that needs soldering to rigid copper begin by removing the old valve as above.
Place the valve fitting onto the pipe to ensure a tight fit.

Some water might remain in the system so keep a small bucket handy.
